I have been meaning to answer Louise's question about what bison tastes like. I buy it ground like ground beef, and it tastes very similar. It is much leaner than beef though, and I like that it is a local product. Costs about the same as ground beef too. I make taco salads and occasionally hamburgers with it.
Another reader asked why we decided to save only $1000 in our EF. We had a debate about this awhile ago, trying to decide if it was best to even have and EF when we were trying to pay off debts. After much discussion between ourselves and hearing readers opinions, we opted for a compromise. We are saving some money for an emergency, but focusing the rest on debt repayment.
