Check this link out here. I am not completely happy with the appearance of my bars yet, but this site gave me the code I needed, and the instructions to use it (including for new blogger format).
I am a bit of an html dummy so the simpler the better!
(30 mins later... sheesh speaking of dummies I tried to upload a new template and lost all my sidebar info!!!)
